I’m Uniquely Qualified To Represent You In Columbia.

Through my ten years of service on the York County Council and my time on the City of Rock Hill Planning Commission, I am fully aware of the issues that brought us to where we are and how they affect you going forward.

My community service started well before my time on planning commission and council. As a National Guard officer, I learned that every aspect of government cannot be run like a business due to its much broader mission. As president of the Rock Hill Jaycees, I learned that it takes a different approach to motivate volunteers than it does to motivate employees. That idea is much more pleasant for everyone involved when used with employees, boards, and commission members, as well as people in general. As team leader of the Come-See-Me Parade, I learned that just because I like something does not mean that everyone does or should. It is always best to get input from everyone involved to produce the most desirable result.

I have continued giving back to our community since leaving county council through service and other boards including

  • Keystone

  • City of Rock Hill Zoning Board of Appeals

  • Anne Springs Close Board of Manager

  • York Technical College Commission

  • Catawba Regional Council of Governments

  • Pennies for Progress 5 Commission

  • Rock Hill Economic Development Board

  • Bethel United Methodist Church Council

In addition to my 25+ years of community service, I ran a small business for 32 years. Upon graduation from Clemson, I took over our part-time operation and ran it full-time until we sold CMS in 2022.  I know what it’s like to struggle to make ends meet and to build a future. I have seen first-hand in both the public and private-sectors how the decisions made by the South Carolina State Senate affect our lives here at home. I am uniquely qualified to serve as your voice in Columbia to ensure future decisions are made in the most positive way possible for York County.‍
