Chad Williams
My name is Chad Williams, and I have lived here all of my life, which has only been 60 years despite evidence otherwise. I have mowed many of the lawns in York County as part of CMS, which we started when I was in high school and operated until February 2022. Nowadays, I work at Farmer’s Exchange four days a week starting at the crack of 11-ish.
Malynda Williams
My wife Malynda has lived here all of her life as well, which is a few months longer than me despite evidence otherwise. She has cleaned many of the teeth in York County as a dental hygienist. She’s still at it today, much to the appreciation of new and longtime patients alike.
Kaity Williams
My oldest daughter Kaity was born and raised here, where she was encouraged to enjoy life and follow her dreams. She graduated from South Pointe having never missed a day of school from kindergarten through graduation. After college, she followed those dreams to Burbank, California, where she is now a cinematographer. Although she sounds very similar to her sister, she is her own person.
Kally Williams
My youngest daughter Kally was born and raised here, where she was encouraged to enjoy life and follow her dreams. She graduated from South Pointe having never missed a day of school from kindergarten through graduation. After college, she followed those dreams to Burbank, California, where she is now a sound mixer. Although she sounds very similar to her sister, she is her own person.
Chick Williams
My Daddy, Chick Williams, has lived here all of his life. He has been accused of owning Glencairn Gardens and Cherry Park due to his many years of service as the Property Maintenance Director of the City of Rock Hill. He continues his lifelong hobbies including gardening and advocating for environmental issues every chance he gets.
Buddy McCarter
Buddy McCarter, Malynda’s daddy, lived here all of his life. He witnessed many of York County’s sporting events in his first profession and supplied tires to many York County cars in his second at Drum’s Tire. He is often credited as the creator of The Herald Jamboree while he served many years as Sports Editor of The Herald.
Linda Williams
My mother, Linda Williams, has lived here most of her life, choosing to leave Hartsville, SC to attend Winthrop University. Upon graduation, she started a career here where she taught many of the students in York County. Her civic involvement can be seen all over our community. She has authored two books: Beyond Snap! Crackle! Pop! The Story of American Illustrator Vernon Grant and Do's and Dont's: Everyday Etiquette for Everybody.
Margaret McCarter
Margaret McCarter, Malynda’s mama, has lived here all of her life. She retired from the York County Natural Gas Authority after forty years of service helping grow it into what it is today. She has always been and still today remains heavily involved in Bethel United Methodist Church.
Duke
Duke, our first dog, lived here all 14 years of his life. We adopted him from the York County Animal Shelter, and he was one of the last dogs left from the era when it was okay for dogs to roam around on their own. Because of that, some of you may recognize him by himself or by his head stuck out of the window of my truck, as was often part of his daily routine.
Macy
Macy, our second dog, lived here all of her life, but not always with us. She was generously given to us when she was three years old after we lost Duke. You may have seen me walking around Rock Hill in any number of places with her. We walked all over Rock Hill during my first three terms on county council, and I still have people ask me about her.
Baxter
Baxter, our dog, was not born here but has lived here most of his life after joining our family in the same way Macy did. He was my walking partner for my last two council terms and still is today. Kaity and Kally think you should vote for me simply based on his cuteness.
