A Message from a Mama
Linda Williams
Chick and I have always been proud of Chad’s common-sense decisions and amazed at his ability to tactfully lead. But we want people to know the genuine, kind-hearted, well-rounded person he has always been. We remember:
his asking me to find a “hard” book he could use to teach his struggling first grade friend how to read
his test taking routine described by his third-grade teacher (observe others at work; examine pencil; position paper on desk; begin attack, submit a perfect paper)
the bully in seventh grade who became an ally when Chad asked, “Why can't we be friends?”
his determination to become an Eagle Scout
his high school classmates who called him “Computer Brain” (45 years ago!)
learning that he had joined the SC National Guard and was driving a school bus in Clemson. (He still graduated cum laude.)
If elected, fellow senators will quickly discover Chad's vast knowledge of York County and our state, his thorough investigations and preparation for discussions, and his solid work ethic. The people he'll represent will learn that he listens, comprehends, responds, and cares. It's a win-win situation for all of us.
